  2. Her scarf waving behind her in the wind, and totally oblivious to the fate of Isidora Duncan three years earlier, Amanda screeched her open top Lagonda Tourer to a halt right in front of the control tower, thus bypassing check-in, Customs and a posse of gendarmes.

    She could see the nacelles of the twin-prop [insert name of suitable aircraft here, my knowledge of exotic historic transport craft having quite run its course] as the engines began their warm-up, and she exhaled deeply. Now! she thought ...

  3. She threw her scarf to the wind and she ran. "Oliver!!!! Stop! come back here!" The nacelle started moving. "OLIVER!!!!!!!, yelled Mandy to her dandy. Too late. The aircraft gathered speed on the the runway. Faster, faster, it took off. The scarf found its way into an engine that coughed its disbelief. 'You're not leaving yet, my little Welsh man. You are too rare a bit to leave me so...'
