  2. I love this! Well done Maryse, it's a great achievement.

Now I have one suggestion, which you will think flies against the 'just for fun' ethos, but hear me out... in the same spirit as ArtwicBest, why don't we have a Loqwaciest type thing?

How it would work is this : a panel of judges would take it in turns to choose their favourite 3 (or 5) Loqwacious tweets from the day before, and simply post them as "Commended". Nothing else. It would be in the spirit of John's Artwiculate "round up".

And it could be announced via the LQW account, so no-one need know who the judges were.

    What do you think?

  3. Please provide feedback as to Tidd's suggestion. Also, how would it be managed?
    Thanks!

  4. I like the non-competition spirit of loqwacious. I think sometimes more creativity comes out of it, because we are not trying to please masses or a panel. I take more chances with lqw than I do with artwiculate.

  5. It would mean a person or persons had the responsibility to choose and each day 3 or 5 people would get kudos. There could be the same disappointment there has been with Artwiculate with some people winning regularly and others never quite making it.

As Loqwacious is run now we are all winners and nobody ever loses. We play for the fun of playing. We find new ways to use words and share them without looking over our shoulder to see if others think we measure up.

With Artwiculate I shall always be an also ran. With Loqwacious as it is now I'm like a wild pony free to run for the joy of running with all the other ponies. Would you pin a rosette on a wild pony?

  6. I guess my feedback isn't all that valid here since I don't play LQW all that much, but I kind of thought the whole point of this game was that there was no competition and therefore would hopefully prevent some of the "ugliness" that we've seen on Artwiculate over the past year or so...I dunno just me...

  7. Some one would have the hassle of getting the three and even if a rota it will still come down to that taste of these 'judges'. At least on Artwiculate it's a wider collective taste, which makes it more impersonal ( although interesting to see who and what wins some days suggesting...)I would tend to suggest leave it as a bit of fun as others have suggested. It's makes it different rather then a pale copy of its big brother/sister

  8. Good effort ... Congrats to all those who made it possible.
Keep #lqw the way it is ... the way it was born.
Let #lqw maintain its unique identity.
#lqw will prosper and blossom the way it is.
Wishing my Best . Keep Going

  9. I bow to the wishes of the majority!

Just for the record, I wasn't proposing votes, or points, or rankings, or awards, or anything like that. Just something like John's "round up", is all. Completely subjective, of course, but not pretending to be anything else.

And I loved what you wrote Ginette. You were on fire the other day in Artwiculate! It's a mystery to me why you never got that worthless little yellow crown. But you're probably right about #lqw. I've always been too competitive.

  10. An idea for a theme :

Use the WOTD to make a newspaper-style headline. E.g. today's word (Jersey) could have been :

Tutankhamun's Jersey Discovered By His Mummy In Great Pyramid!

    Just a thought :-)

  12. Would you rather get the LQW word an hour early? 7am EST time? I can program the posts so it makes no difference to me. Please let me know. thanks!

  13. Suggestion: Would love to see 2 links (on Twitter) when new word announced. One directly to the definition and the other to the blog site. Thank you.

  14. Paul, could you post your "non-breaking space" suggestion here? Make it the For Dummies version, then I might get it!

  15. I think "defenestrate" should be the word sometime...

  16. Brent, if you ever check back on, please know that "defenestrate" has already been used on Artwiculate. I do my best not to replicate. TY!
