The Day's Advance
ReplyDeleteEarly morning abhorrence
Still too tired to dance
Just imagining sweet romance
In the realm of a daydream, perchance
Armed with coffee and circumstance
The silence before the rants
Of the do's and don'ts and can'ts
Strictly through observance
Every day another chance
To hold my ground, keep solid my stance
Be brave and thrust my lance
Another day's performance
But not before each morning's abeyance
So I may review my inner surveillance
Abeyance in France
ReplyDeletewhile in France
i held in abeyance
a chance
for dalliance
as i glance
even at a distance
he had no arrogance
nor ignorance
hmnn, love his fragrance
and his stance
well balance
he's also a man of substance
[no past tense for the rhyme]
Ambition
ReplyDeleteAbeyance holds my hand
In his pleasure I dwell
We walk down the sandy strand
and he gives me a shell
Yet I dream of freedom
Movement is my desire
So I end our we-dom
In order to go higher
When Ms. Abeyance met Mr. Abstinence
ReplyDeleteThey started a puzzling dance.
Not now, no.
Maybe later, you know.
I don't think it's a good idea.
I'll go recite an Ave Maria.
It went on for a while
all denial and absence,
Until in a sea of lack
they decided to cut some slack
and indulge in a weekend for two
on the shores of Lake I'llHaveYou.
Do you love me, love me true,
ReplyDeleteAnd will you still, when love's not new?
Not for us is love's abeyance
Two souls but only one conveyance
For us it took a single glance
To light the fuse of our romance
I'll be your daisy, be my tree,
But don't get down on bended knee
For I don't need formality
Just give me eccentricity
Be yourself and so will I
Thus grows the apple of our eye
In time to come when we grow old
When all around us has grown cold
Our love will keep us fresh and warm
As if tomorrow's not yet come
Not for us is love's abeyance
Two souls but only one conveyance
You'll be me and I'll be you
On a bicycle made for two
Twenty-six Extra-Silly Rhymes After Viewing A Film
ReplyDeleteThis film review will proceed without abeyance
While we consider the film maker's brilliance
Is it good planning or just a coincidence
That his most popular films are full of decadence
With exquisite elegance
We absorb dreamlike fragments
The hero bravely holds no grievance
All his tribulations are happenstance
The scenery is full of iridescence
Inspiring a mood of jubilance
And you can't go wrong with kittens
Or a pair or soulful laments
The heroine exudes magnificence
and demonstrates a certain nonchalance
And since the director has omniscience
The audience must have patience
Has a film ever shown such quintessence?
It treats its themes with reverence
No critic could possibly write a bad sentence
Except of the scene about thermoluminescence
In fact I overheard an utterance
That this film is full of vraisemblance
And the audience did not even wince
At the opening scene's xenotransplants
In closing, this film will give you yens
For riding in high-tech zeppelins
