  1. Hroanfrost - A brown-mottled frost which occurs when pollution mixes into the freezing water.

  2. Midasroan - a formerly virile, chestnut young horse, but now a gilding.

  3. Croanet (roan/cornet)- 17th century: Instrument, used by a young lady eager to flee the convent, for goading her mount, usually a stable boy who would promise marriage after the ride.

  4. Roanilleist - a noveau rich Dame clad in monochromatic apparel of either sorrel, chestnut, bay,or sprinkled with gray or white and who always talks in the third person as though royalty
